Imagine a strand of hair can pair you with your genetic perfect match. Society is moving more and more into the tech world of Black Mirror and it’s evident by the shows that are coming out. Case in point, the Netflix upcoming eight part series The One.

In a world set “five minutes in the future,” The One offers a DNA test that will find the one person you’re genetically meant to fall deeply in love with. “The idea is simple, but the implications are explosive.” The trailer features a company that stresses that we all deserve that fairy tale love life, but at what cost? There’s an investigation about a suspicious death on top of what this DNA love connection can really bring. And it’ sounds like a British thriller. I love a British thriller!

The One launches on Friday, March 12 on Netflix.
