For some, if you’re not in a relationship the idea of Valentine’s Day and the weekend leading up to it can cause an array of emotions. Love is on full display and if you’re not into any of the hoopla the day of love might give you all types of anxiety, but as your blogging single gal I want to offer up some ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day weekend all by yourself and have a great time doing so.

“Treat Yo Self”

This weekend more than ever shower yourself with unconditional love in the forms of gifts. Do you want some new lipstick? Treat yo self. Need a new pair of boots? Treat yo self. In need of a massage? Treat yo self. Buy anything materialistic that puts a smile on your face.

Weekend Watch List

I watch a great deal of movies so I have a few suggestions you can get into this weekend for any type of V Day feelings you might have. If you’re struggling with the idea of being alone watch “How To Be Single.” If you need a reminder that Valentine’s Day can also celebrate your female relationships watch “Girls Trip.” If you want to wallow in the destruction of relationship watch “Blue Valentine,” ‘Unfaithful,” “Cruel Intentions,” or “(500) Days of Summer.” If you want a love story that will make you laugh watch “Valentine’s Day,” “What’s Your Number,” or “How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days.” If you want a steamy Valentine watch “40 Days and 40 Nights,” “9 1/2 weeks,” or “Love Jones.” And finally, if you want a feel good romance watch “The Notebook,” “About Time,” or “To All The Boys” series. The third and final film just came out.

Self Care Sunday

Last and certainly not least it’s perfect timing for Valentine’s Day to end up on self care Sunday this year. Given the craziness that 2020 brought this V Day absoltely deserves to be on a Sunday for the single gals. So what should one do on a Valentine’s Day self care Sunday? Let’s start with making yourself a yummy breakfast followed by going back to sleep. This is a day of rest and relaxation. When you wake up, whenever your body decides – don’t set an alarm this day, maybe make a snack if you’re hungry then give yourself an at home facial and do your toes and nails if you need to. Watch a film or call a loved one then it’s dinner time. Make your favorite meal then get ready for a bubble bath while sipping champagne. The day may be winding down, but end the night doing something extra special for yourself whatever that may be. Doesn’t that sound amazing!

Happy Valentine’s Day weekend!
