There’s no question that 2020 has been a hectic year. People have lost their jobs for many reasons and companies have faced what many see as long overdue backlash for racially insensitive images that represent the brand. Aunt Jemima and Uncle Ben are two of those images.

Aunt Jemima and Uncle Ben are two images that have been used for decades as the face of pancake mix/syrup and rice respectively but have come into question the racial undertones of their images. The removal of the current branding is supposedly in the midst and Saturday Night Live poked fun at the infamous figures losing their jobs.

Maya Rudolph stepped in the role as Aunt Jemima and Kenan Thompson as Uncle Ben. Uncle Ben also came to question another popular black figure, the Allstate Guy (Dave Chappelle), as to why he’s still employed. Many broke character, but it was still comical.

Watch what happens when Aunt Jemima, Uncle Ben, and the Allstate Guy jobs are up in question in the clip from SNL below. Share your thoughts in the comments.
