Happy Halloween! đ»đđ»
While I’m sad spooky season has come to end, I’m always happy when Halloween actually gets here. I love to see everyone get creative with their costumes and I love to watch my favorite TV shows and films that have a spooky element to it. This year I decided to share my favorite TV moments with a Halloween back drop that you can watch right now (all except one) to get you in the holiday spirit.
Scream Queens – S1 E4 “Haunted House”
The first season of Scream Queens was absolutely pure TV gold. The cast, the one liners, the plot. Everything about it was just so good and their Halloween episode is one that sticks in my mind. The Haunted House on Shady Lane was the epic house party where people had no idea they were actually surrounded by dead bodies but the moments between Chanel #6 aka Hester (Lea Michele) and Chad Radwell (Glen Powell) live in my mind rent free.
Where to watch: Hulu
American Horror Story: Coven – S3 E4 “Fearful Pranks Ensue”
I’ve said many times that Coven is my favorite season of American Horror Story. There are many scary elements in this season but the “Fearful Pranks Ensue” episode actually takes place during Halloween when the coven is attacked by the zombies Marie Laveau (Angela Bassett) raises from the dead with voodoo.
Where to watch: Netflix and Amazon Prime
Boy Meets World –Â S5 E17 “And Then There Was Shawn”
When I think of Boy Meets World this episode immediately comes to mind. The main cast is stuck at John Adams High during detention with a psycho killer on the loose. All the horror movie troupes comically come to life with Jennifer Love Hewitt making a guest appearance.
Where to watch: Disney+
Girlfriends – S2 E7 “Trick or Treat”
It starts on a high note with Joan (Tracee Ellis Ross) having her annual Halloween party but this time Toni (Jill Marie Jones) isn’t invited because of the rift in their friendship. The party takes a turn when Toni shows up completely shattered because her ex only rekindled their relationship to get revenge on her for cheating. It has some funny moments despite the heavy topics and it’s one of my favorite Girlfriends episodes with the beautiful church moment at the end.
Where to watch: Netflix
One on One – S1 E8 “The Phantom Menace”
Since many of the 2000’s black sicoms are now on Netflix I’ve been able to relive some moments I forgot and the Halloween episode on One on One from the first season is a prime example. Flex (Flex Alexander) has a Michael Jackson battle with an old rival, but towards the end a moment with  Breanna, Spirit and Arnaz (Kyla Pratt, Sicily, and Robert Ri’chard) had me rolling.
Where to watch: Netflix
Parks and Recreation – S2 E 7 “Greg Pikitis”
I was late to the party, but I discovered how awesome Parks and Rec is during quarantine this year. I’m obsessed with this show and I can’t tell you how many times I watched this series now. Every episode is hilarious, but the Halloween episodes are some of the funniest and have many stand out moments. I could talk about the one where Ben and Leslie (Adam Scott and Amy Poehler) got engaged or Andy and April’s (Chris Pratt and Aubrey Plaza) Halloween party, but it’s Ann’s (Rashida Jones) Halloween party that takes the cake. While Ann was trying to have a fun get together, Leslie was trying to capture her holiday nemesis Greg Pikitis (Cody Klop) in the act of vandalizing. It led to one of Pratt’s most iconic Andy moments.
Where to watch: Peacock
Moesha – S6 E7 “The Nutty Moesha”
When Mo (Brandy) takes energy vitamins to try to get through mid-terms the side effects are hilarious. She turns into a highly sexual nun, her Halloween costume, and comes onto Hakeem (Lamont Bentley) strong. I laugh every time she cracks that bottle over her head.
Where to watch: Netflix
That 70âs Show – S3 E4 “Too Old to Trick or Treat, Too Young to Die”
Lastly if you’re “hanging out down the street” and love Alfred Hitchcock then this episode will be for you. Fez (Wilmer Valderrama) ends up in a wheelchair after falling off the roof and spies on the Pinciotti’s. This episode is filled with references to Hitchcock films like:Â “Psycho,” “Vertigo,” “The Birds,” and “Rear Window,” to name a few. It’s hilarious.
Where to watch: Currently not available on streaming services
