Friday is about to get freaky for real in a few months. Spooky, Virgo, and Fall are my favorite seasons and this upcoming horror comedy is the perfect way to cap off the ending of the Halloween season.
From the creator of “Happy Death Day” and many of the “Paranormal Activity” films comes a perfect blend of two known favorites. After the release of the trailer for “Freaky,” co- written and directed by Christopher Landon, viewers immediately drew comparisons to “Freaky Friday” and “The Hot Chick.” In both films the lead characters switch bodies and have to figure out to get back into their original form before time runs out. In the case of “Freaky” it gets much more sinister.
High school girl Millie (Kathryn Newton) gets killed by the Blissfield Butcher (Vince Vaughn) or so she thinks. She awakes the next day only to discover that she now inhabits the body of the killer and has 24 hours to get back into her body before it becomes permanent. If this is anything like “Happy Death Day” then this film will be a thrilling, hilarious joy ride. I’m in.
“Freaky” is set to come to theaters Friday, November 13, 2020.
Watch the official trailer for “Freaky” in the clip below. Is this film worth going to the movies for or will you watch safely from home when you can rent? Share your thoughts in the comments.
