Nicole Kirkland and Mac Daddyy Re-envision Cardi B’s “WAP” With Perfect Dance Video

Nicole Kirkland and Mac Daddyy did what they needed to do and that just about sums up their take on Cardi B‘s new single “WAP” featuring Megan Thee Stallion. Yesterday a video was uploaded to YouTube and promoted all over social media showcasing dance and the LGBTQ+ community.

Mac Daddy, real name Angel Merino, is a professional make up artist and beauty influencer and Nicole Kirkland is a choreographer and teacher. The pair teamed up to deliver one of the greatest dance videos I’ve seen in recent years. On Kirkland’s YouTube page she stated the video was done “for the culture” further explaining why this video was made. “There are so many layers to gay men… it is not a one glove fits all! Angel and I wanted to represent the beautiful diversity found within the LGBTQ+ community! The rugged, the femininity & everything in-between,” she wrote. She further added, “This video was so much fun to film! All the boys killed it and I couldn’t be more happy with how it turned out!”

We’re all happy with how it turned out because it’s amazing. My sister brought it to my attention and I’m glad she did. I don’t even particularly like “WAP,” but hearing the song with this visual makes it enjoyable. The concept was created by Kirkland and MacDaddy with both serving as choreographers for the piece along with Anthony Garza, Yai Ariza, and Keegan Hill. The Roux Media directed and edited the video featuring the outstanding dancers: “Bottom Behavior,” Mac Daddyy, Howard Johnson, Darius Hickman, Joseph Alexander Pina, Yai Ariza, Alekz Samone, Julio Jimenez, Keegan Hill, Bobby Newberry, Anthony Garza, Aryan Davenport, and Nicole Kirkland.
