Nurse Mildred Ratched Gets Imagined Backstory In Upcoming Netflix Series

Put Ryan Murphy on a project and you automatically have my attention. Pretty much anything that man puts his name on is television gold.

Murphy is bringing another series to Netflix all what I assume is apart of his overall deal with the streaming service. Ratched starring Sarah Paulson is putting a spin on Louise Fletcher’s iconic “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” character Nurse Mildred Ratched.

Imagaing the origins of Nurse Ratched pre ‘Cuckoo’s Nest,’ the series will follow the ambitious mental institution nurse slowing turning into a demented “monster to her patients.” I saw “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” so long ago and it was probably in high school so it’ll be interesting to revisit this character and this story. And again Ryan Murphy can do no wrong, so I’ll give this series a try.

Cynthia Nixon, Sharon Stone, Vincent D’Onofrio, and Charlie Carver also star in the 18 episode show premiering on Friday, September 18th.
