It may have taken a while, but sadboi season is officially amongst us and I couldn’t be more happier to get in my feels with some new music from my boy Raleigh Ritchie. You may know the Bristol-born artist under another alias. His real name is Jacob Anderson and he played Grey Worm on the beloved HBO series Game of Thrones. I discovered Raleigh’s music like how many people stumble upon new music; by accident. I guess I was YouTubing too many GOT clips and interviews so the service suggested Raleigh Ritchie music. I fell in love.
Ritchie’s debut album You’re a Man Now, Boy was released in 2016, but he would occasionally release a single here and there teasing another album was “on the way.” After much waiting around from fans we finally can rejoice. A few weeks ago Raleigh dropped “Aristocrats,” a new song from his anticipated second album along with a confirmed release date for his next project, Andy.
“Aristocrats” displays all the things that make me love Raleigh. Strings mixed with a good R&B beat, his British accent coming through, and vocals that make me actually think I have a good voice when I sing along.
The album features 12 tracks: “Pressure,” “Time in a Tree” (already released), “Aristocrats” (already released), “Party Fear,” “Worries,” “STFU,” “27 Club,” “Sadboi,” “Shadow,” “Structure,” “Squares,” and “Big & Scared.”
Raleigh Ritchie’s Andy album releases June 26th.
