Amy Adams Plays An Agoraphobic In Psychological Thriller ‘The Woman in the Window’

If you’re into Hitchcock and still reveling in Gillian Flynn’s “Gone Girl,” then the upcoming film “The Woman in the Window” starring Amy Adams is a film you need to add to your 2020 list. From the newly released trailer alone; viewers are comparing the film to “Rear Window” and are convinced this will garner Oscar buzz for Adams.

Based on the #1 New York Times Best Seller by A.J. Finn and adapted by Tracy Letts, “The Woman in the Window” follows agoraphobic woman Anna Fox (Adams) who lives alone in New York. She spends her days drinking and lounging in her fortress of solitude until she befriends the across the street neighbor Jane Russell ( Julianne Moore). Upon witnessing a violent crime and reporting it to the police, Anna is convinced a cover up is happening, but for what reason? Is something much sinister going on or is Anna’s mind playing tricks on her.

“The Woman in the Window” is expected in theaters May 15, 2020.
