Nominations for the 2019 Primetime Emmy Awards were announced on Tuesday, July 16 with HBO taking home top prize earning the most nominations (137, Game of Thrones earned the most for the network) and streaming service Netflix coming in second (117 noms)
The GOT girls completely dominated the Supporting Actress in a Drama Series category with Sophie Turner, Lena Headey, Gwendoline Christie, and Maisie Williams all earning nominations. The GOT boys did well too with Kit Harington, Alfie Allen, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, and Peter Dinklage getting nominations as well.
Netflix’ When They See Us gave first time nominations to Aante Blackk and Jharrel Jerome and FX’s Pose earned groundbreaking nominations as well. Shows like Dead To Me, Killing Eve, Ozark, and This Is Us are up for awards with talent like: Bill Hader, Sterling K. Brown, Emilia Clarke, Joey King, Sandra Oh, Kate McKinnon, Nicey Nash, Don Cheadle, Anthony Anderson, and more hopeful to take home an award.
