Things are moving from out of her head into the August 2019 issue of Vogue as Ariana Grande covers the magazine. From “Grief and Growing Up,” Grande spills on navigating through the music industry while managing anxiety and all the curve balls life seems to keep throwing her way.
“I was researching healing and PTSD and talking to therapists, and everyone was like, ‘You need a routine, a schedule,’ the pop star told the mag adding, “Of course because I’m an extremist, I’m like, OK, I’ll go on tour! But it’s hard to sing songs that are about wounds that are so fresh. It’s fun, it’s pop music, and I’m not trying to make it sound like anything that it’s not, but these songs to me really do represent some heavy shit.” Ariana is currently on the U.S. leg of her Sweetener/thank u, next tour and has had many shows where she would be crying through tracks. Like she said, her emotional wounds are still fresh.
Elsewhere in the article Ariana talks about the bond she has with her fans, keeping some things just for her, making music she really wants to make and more.
Grande also premiered a unique visual experience with the release of her song “in my head” from her thank u, next album. Directed by Bardia Zeinali, the 26-year-old allows viewers to go into her head space as she switches between the studio track and heavenly accapella vocals showing off her iconic ponytail and thigh high platform boots. “in my head” is hands down my favorite track from the TUN album, so I’m happy it’s getting the attention and love it deserves.
