Kim Kardashian West Documents Her Rib Smashing 2019 Met Gala Look With Vogue

Kim Kardashian West turned heads at the 2019 Met Gala in New York City on Monday, May 6 dripped, literally, in a Thierry Mugler designed dress. This year’s theme for the Costume Exhibition was “Camp: Notes on Fashion” which was inspired by Susan Sontag’s 1964 essay which describes camp as “love of the unnatural: of artifice and exaggeration.”

So some fashion lovers and on lookers had mixed feelings about Kim’s look. Some felt her take on the theme was lackluster and was typical bodycon dress Kim, while others feel Kim IS camp, so she basically came as herself. One thing everyone could agree on however was KKW’s teeny, tiny, corseted waist in her Met Gala look.

Documented by Vogue, West showed her final fitting with the Mugler team getting tightly pulled in her corset before slipping into the silicon dress. My stomach hurts just thinking about it. Kim could barely sit once the corset was in place, but they say beauty is pain right? Loved the hair. Loved the makeup. Dress was nothing special. And that waist, well you take a look if you haven’t already.
