Missy Elliott Surprises Fan Mary Halsey While Rapping “Work It”

Back in August a video went viral of a woman named Mary Halsey performing karaoke to Missy Elliott’s “Work It” in a park. The video was such a sensation it even caught the eye of Missy Elliot herself. She tweeted, “I just found out I have a FUNKY WHITE SISTER😳😩😂🤣 forreal doe😂🤣& she brought her home girl with her from da hood that keep tip toeing in the background with a plate of food🤣 yo I’m done!😂 but she straight killed “Work It” sound effects & all🙌🏾 I love it🔥🙌🏾” with a clip of Mary rapping.

It took a minute but it caught the eye of Ellen DeGeneres of course and it made for a great TV moment this week. Mary Halsey appeared on The Ellen Show and talked about how “Work It” became her go to karaoke song. Later while performing the song, Elliott joined Halsey on stage and after sat down for a chat.
