Ariana Grande Releases ‘The Light Is Coming’ With ‘Sweetener’ Pre-Order

The light is no longer coming because it’s here and so is the pre-order for Ariana Grande‘s fourth studio album Sweetener.

Grande promised every 20th of every month leading up to the release of her album that fans would be getting little treats. Today, the pre-order for Sweetener became available and so did her next single “The Light Is Coming” featuring Nicki Minaj.

Co-written and produced by Pharrell Williams, “The Light Is Coming” is the second “ARInika” colloboration this year with the 24-year-old appearing on Minaj’s “Bed” record off her upcoming Queen album out later this summer.

“The Light Is Coming” video premiered exclusively on Reebok.com and was a trending topic on Twitter throughout the day. Now let’s get to this single. I heard snippets of the song and Grande performed the song at iHeart Radio Wango Tango for the first time early this year. I wasn’t 100% on board and I’m still not. The song has its moments but the beat is a little all over the place and not in a good way. Ariana is going in an interesting direction with this album and I haven’t heard enough to know if I like this new sound.

Sweetener will have 15 tracks and is out August 17th.
