Set in the 1980s in New York City, Pose, the new FX series created by Steven Canals, Brad Falchuk, and Ryan Murphy, is winning over the hearts of the LGBTQ community and mainstream audiences with its story of being different in a society judging you and navigating a way to create a legacy of your dreams.

The story centers around ball culture and the dynamic everyday lives of the characters social media have already fallen in love with. What exactly is a ball you ask? “Balls are a gathering of people who are not welcomed to gather anywhere else,” Blanca, played by Mj Rodriguez, says in a teaser for the series. Before actually seeing the show it reminded me of the Viceland reality series My House and that’s basically the gist if you ask me. I enjoyed watching one episode but I didn’t think I would get into a whole show based on that concept, but let’s be real Pose is a Ryan Murphy project OF COURSE it’s lit!

Pose stars Evan Peters, Kate Mara, James Van Der Beek, Dominique Jackson, Billy Porter, Indya Moore, Ryan Jamaal Swain, Charlayne Woodard, Dyllón Burnside, Hailie Sahar, Angelica Ross and Angel Bismark Curiel; making the show the first ever mainstream series to cast mainly transgender actors as series regulars.

Watch the first look at Pose in the clip below and be sure to tune into the show Sundays at 9pm. I’ll be live tweeting now so be sure to join in on the conversation.
