What is Red Nose Day you ask?
Launched in 1988 in the UK, Red Nose Day is a fundraising campaign run by the non-profit origination Comic Relief Inc. and brings together people every year to raise money for children programs. The infamous day launched in the US in 2015 and has since raised over $1 billion globally. Buying a red nose from Walgreens retailer can be a small gesture to support the massive efforts.
Each year celebrities do their part in raising awareness for the cause by rocking red noses and often doing some sort of gesture to bring attention to the organization and the amazing things it’s doing for youths worldwide. For Throwback Thursday I wanted to share one of my absolute favorite things in the world and in part spread awareness about Red Nose Day.
Back in 2015 Coldplay teamed up with the cast of HBO’s Game of Thrones to create a mock musical about the award-winning series and encourage those to donate for Red Nose Day. One word, ICONIC!
Watch Coldplay celebrate Red Nose Day with the cast of Game of Thrones in the throwback Thursday clip below. Share your thoughts in the comments.
