Ariana Grande Flips Things Upside Down For ‘No Tears Left To Cry’ Music Video

Are you watching a sexy version of “Inception?” Maybe an episode of Black Mirror? Or even a Faceless Man scene from Game of Thrones? Nope! You’re about to watch the latest music video from my boo Ariana Grande, “No Tears Left To Cry.”

Grande dropped the new single AND music video on Friday, April 20th after several months of silence on social media. Earlier this week she teased online that she would be dropping new music when she released the name of the single, but it was upside down. Seeing the music video it all makes sense.

Directed by Dave Meyers, the 24-year-old starts the single off with powerful haunting vocals followed by the lyrics: “Right now I’m in the state of mind. I want to be in like all the time. Ain’t got no tears left to cry. So I’m picking it up. I’m loving, I’m living, I’m picking it up.” Fans are deeming the new single the beginning of the “low pony era” referencing Grande’s signature high ponytail that has now been pulled down to the nape of her neck. A new hairstyle always means you’ve come to slay!

Ok so y’all know I love me some AG and she can do no wrong in my book, but this song is kind of giving me “Focus.” Like just a single she came out with to shut fans up until she really finishes her album – you see “Focus” wasn’t even on the Dangerous Woman album. I don’t hate the song, but I’m not 100% in love with it either. The vocals sound good and she looks great in the video, but it’s something about the song that isn’t clicking with me yet and I’ve listened to it a few times at this point. I’m sure I’ll grow to love it because I find myself keep humming the chorus. I approve and can’t wait to hear more.
