The pinnacle of awards show season took place on Sunday, March 4 live from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. The 90th Academy Awards, also known as the Oscars, also known as the biggest night in Hollywood brought back Jimmy Kimmel as host, who delivered a solid opening monologue.
Emma Stone, Armie Hammer, Chadwick Boseman, Meryl Streep, Gary Oldman, Salma Hayek-Pinault, and Lupita Nyong’o were just some of the celebrities that took jeers and cheers from Kimmel during the opening montage. Once Kimmel took the stage the jokes began to fly naturally with the late night talk show host addressing envelopgate from last year’s show, the Time’s Up movement, the success of “Black Panther” and “Wonder Woman,” the nominees up for awards, and much more.
