Prepare yourself to get to know the magical tale of The Nutcracker in a new way with Disney’s “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms,” coming to theaters at the end of the next year. Yeah, it’s a long wait, but the teaser trailer will give you all the excitement to hold you over.
Directed by Lasse Hallström and inspired by E.T.A. Hoffmann’s classic tale, “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms” tells the story of Clara (Mackenzie Foy) who covets a special key from her late mother that will open a box. During her godfather Drosselmeyer’s (Morgan Freeman) annual holiday get together, Clara follows a golden thread left by Drosselmeyer that takes her into magical realms: Land of Snowflakes, Land of Flowers, Land of Sweets; and an ominous fourth realm.
In the trailer we get to see the enchanting world come to life with a solider named Phillip (Jayden Fowora-Knight), Mother Ginger (Helen Mirren), a Sugar Plum Fairy (Keira Knightley), and the dazzling Misty Copeland slaying at what she does best. Can Clara defeat a gang of mice, retrieve her special key, and restore order to the realms? We’ll find out November 2, 2018 when the film hits theaters.
