New York, NY — A muggy, yet rainy Tuesday night in The Big Apple brought out a lengthy line of music lovers for Pandora’s 2017 Sounds Like You event sponsored by Spectrum. The first come first serve free event gathered Post Malone, SZA, Ty Dolla $ign, and Cheat Codes at Pier 36 in Manhattan where hundreds enjoyed a night filled with photo ops, great music, signature cocktails, and good spirits.

Once inside the venue it felt like you literally walked into an enormous snow globe with luminous decor to set the mood, women dressed in ski gear sprinkling snow flake confetti around the spacious room, and hot chocolate to greet you at the doors. Before the start of the concert, guests were engaged in a swag giveaway scavenger hunt with some help from sponsors like: Glade, Mentos, HGTV, Floor & Decor, and Spectrum. Cell phone wallet cases, screen printed T-Shirts, and refreshing Mentos gum were among the giveaways.

The electronic musical DJ trio Cheat Codes kicked off the music portion of the event to set the vibe for attendees and perform in between set changes. Ty Dolla $ign officially started the concert getting his fans amped with old classics like “Paranoid” and new ones like his collab on Fifth Harmony’s “Work From Home.” Post Malone closed out the show after an extended delay due to technical difficulties with a high energy performance that kept the crowd lit until the end of his set with “White Iverson” and “Rockstar,” but personally it was SZA who stole the show.

Fans chanted “SZA, SZA,” before the 28-year-old took the stage. Her contagious stage presence and notes higher than her kicks were visible art as she sung songs from her Grammy nominated Ctrl album and some of her older music before closing out with her hit single “The Weekend.” It was a night music lovers would never forget and have those who missed out running towards the next opportunity of attending a free Pandora party.
