Beyoncè, Alfre Woodard, Billy Eichner and more will bring to life Disney’s beloved “The Lion King” for a new generation to enjoy and for lovers of Walt Disney to experience in a new way when the live-action film releases in summer 2019.
Back in February Donald Glover was announced to play Simba with James Earl Jones reprising his 1994 role as Mufasa. Beyoncè’s name was swirling around to play Simba’s childhood pal turned lady lion Nala and today it was finally confirmed along with some pleasant others.
On Wednesday, Disney shared an image of its leading cast for the animated turned live-action film. Chiwetel Ejiofor, John Oliver, Seth Rogen, Alfre Woodard, Billy Eichner, Keegan-Michael Key, Florence Kasumba, and more will star in the film.
