Evan Peters Goes Full Andy Warhol For Upcoming ‘AHS:Cult’ Episode

Get ready to see American Horror Story actor Evan Peters as you never seen him before as he transforms himself into one of pop cultures most notable modern artists, Andy Warhol.

Earlier on GGB I mentioned that Peters’ would be playing multiple characters in this season of AHS and with the theme being Cult the 30-year-old would be channeling infamous cult leaders. While Andy Warhol may not be a heinous cult leader he did influence many artists in the 60’s with his work. On Instagram, Ryan Murphy shared the first look at Peters as Warhol with a photo captioned, “Evan Peters or Andy Warhol?” The resemblance is uncanny.

Peters’ role as Andy Warhol will debut during the seventh episode of AHS: Cult, called “Valerie Solanas Died for Your Sins: Scumbag.” That episode will also bring Lena Dunham into play. She’ll be playing Valerie Solanas, a radical feminist and author who attempted to murder Warhol.

In other AHS news, the upcoming episode airing Tuesday Oct. 10th, called “Mid-Western Assassin,” has been re-edited in the wake of the mass shooting in Las Vegas last week that took 58 lives and injured up to 500 people who attended a concert on the strip. The episode was reported to depict a shooting during a rally to give “an obvious anti-gun warning about society,” but the violent scene will now happen off camera.

During The New Yorker Festival on Saturday Ryan Murphy said, “Should you air it? Should you not air it? How do you be sensitive? My point of view was I believe I have the right to air it, but I also believe in victims’ rights, and I believe that now is probably not the week to have something explosive or incendiary in the culture because someone who was affected might watch that and it could trigger something or make them feel upset.” He added, “So our decision was to re-edit it and I felt that that was the right move. Nobody ever talks about victims’ rights. That’s sort of a weird emotional discussion that’s never bridged.” Good and tasteful call Ryan!
