The cast of Disney’s live-action “Aladdin” appear to be getting along very well while shooting the anticipated project.
A group selfie of the cast quickly circulated on social media after Will Smith, who will be voicing the beloved Genie, posted the photo on his official Facebook page. He captioned the photo, “We just started shooting Aladdin and I wanted to intro you guys to our new family… Mena Massoud/Aladdin, Naomi Scott/Princess Jasmine, Marwan Kenzari/Jafar, and I’m over here gettin my Genie on. Here we go!”
I am all for this cast until I see them in costume and in the first teaser trailer. That will really determine my feelings. I’ve said time and time again that “Aladdin” is my favorite Disney movie of all time no question! And as Rupaul would say…
In other “Aladdin” news, Billy Magnussen has been added to the cast to play Prince Anders. His character is obviously a new element created special for the live-action version of the film. The initial reaction to Magnussen being added to the cast was NOT received well by fans of the film. It was something like…
No shade to Magnussen, but last time I checked there weren’t any white men in Agrabah. Hollywood just had to throw that in there. Hopefully he won’t be a major character. Like that guy who dissed Aladdin and said he had fleas and then we never saw him again.
