Singer-songwriter Asher Monroe knew at the age of six living in rural Virginia that he wanted to be in the entertainment industry. At the very early age a neighbor heard about an open call for the national Broadway tour of “Beauty and the Beast” at The Kennedy Center and passed the information along to Asher. He was offered the role as Chip and that led to many more roles in television like: Parenthood, Fame, The Mentalist, and other Broadway shows like: The Sound of Music, Oliver!, and The Prince and the Pauper. Eventually Monroe was redirected to his true passion, music.
Monroe’s first taste of the music industry hit a major high point as the lead singer of the pop R&B boy band V Factory. Their first Top 40 single “Love Struck” was released in 2009. Years later and Asher is the last man standing building a solo career under the independent music label D Empire Entertainment. In his career thus far Asher has worked with Chris Brown on his hit single “Memory” and with OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder on “Here With You.”
On his debut solo album Inner Warrior, Asher wants fans to know how much he put into this labor of love. “I want my fans to know that I wrote these lyrics that they’re listening to and so all of these are coming from a personal point.” He co-produced pretty much the entire album and was hands on during the entire process of making the 13 track record.
For the rest of the year Asher Monroe has a few show dates coming up in the next couple of months. He also has a few artists he’s in the works of linking up with to go on a mini tour. Stay up to date with him on social media @AsherMonroe on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook to be in the loop.
Inner Warrior is out now and is currently available to stream on Spotify and on iTunes. You can also download the album for free when you visit his official website.
