Father Overload: ‘Daddy’s Home 2’ Brings Battle For Best Grandfather

Brad Whitaker (Will Ferrell) and Dusty Mayron (Mark Wahlberg) are back again for the father of all comedies. See what I did there.

The first trailer for “Daddy’s Home 2” dropped catching viewers up on what the Whitaker/Mayron clan have been up to since the first film premiered in 2015. The premise is simple, Brad becomes a stepfather to his wife Sara’s children (Linda Cardellini) and must blend peacefully with her ex husband Dusty, all the while competing for the kids’ affection.

In the second film the family is well acquainted with the new dynamic of their lives, but things get stirred up once more when Dusty and Brad’s fathers (Mel Gibson and John Lithgow) come to visit during the holidays. These men are nothing alike, but have a similar goal: to be the best grandpop ever!
