Spike Explores The Life And Career Of Heath Ledger In ‘I Am Heath Ledger’ Documentary

Heath Ledger, the talented actor and director whose life was gone way too soon, is getting a Spike docu flick all about his career and true passion for directing.

The official trailer for I Am Heath Ledger features never before seen footage of Ledger and commentary from the people who knew him the most intimately. The trailer also shows footage from some of Ledger’s most iconic films and how those roles changed the movie industry. “He wanted fame, but when he got it he didn’t want it,” filmmaker Matt Amato says in the clip.

I Am Heath Ledger makes its premiere at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival on April 23rd, nationwide in select theaters on May 3rd, and on Spike TV with a world premiere on May 17th.
