Toronto-based singer Julia Carlucci is crushing the scene with her debut single “Take Me Down” showing off her powerful vocals on the up-tempo, high energy track.
Written by Carlucci, Sam Pomanti, and Cat Lewis, who also produced the song with Andrew Kesler, “Take Me Down” is the right single to showcase what Julia Carlucci is bringing to the music game and how her music influences (Allen Stone, Alicia Keys and Beyoncé) show in her song style.
The backdrop for the Merik Williams directed video is simple, but the message is more vulnerable. “Take Me Down is about falling for someone you know you shouldn’t,” Julia explains, adding, “It’s when your head knows better but your heart is too curious to walk away. Although the lyrics are vulnerable, I always imagined the song with a strong sound and upbeat vibe, so the production needed to be just right. It needed to have that throwback feel but still punch like a contemporary pop record and I think we definitely achieved that.”
