Orange Is The New Black actress Laverne Cox is a fan of Beyoncé, I mean but who isn’t. She often talked about the moment where she would meet Queen Bey and imagined how she would react, it would involve a lot of crying. The moment finally came at the 2017 Grammy Awards on Sunday and Cox shared exactly how the moment went down during her stop by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
“Stephen I met the queen,” Cox told Colbert after he showed the Instagram photo the Doubt actress uploaded to social media. She went on to the explain how she dreamed of the day often and imagined she would cry. She actually did cry the day of the Grammys as she was getting ready in her apartment just at the thought of meeting Bey. “The interesting thing about when you meet the queen a calm comes over you,” the actress further said about her encounter.
Later, Laverne talked about Gavin Grimm, a transgender teen from Virginia in the midst of a case about his rights. Laverne instructed everyone to Google him while she presented at the Grammys on Sunday and during her chat with Colbert she explained why.
