Hannah, Marnie, Jessa, Shoshanna, Adam, Ray, and Elijah aka Lena Dunham, Allison Williams, Jemima Kirke, Zosia Mamet, Adam Driver, Alex Karpovsky, and Andrew Rannells cover the latest issue of The Hollywood Reporter to say goodbye to Girls, approaching its sixth and final season on HBO.
Inside the issue the cast, creators, and producers think back on their time working on the show, those steamy sex scenes, and how the show got pitched to HBO. Dunham, series creator, recalled, “I wrote HBO this one sheet. It was like a tone poem about millennial life. It doesn’t mention a character, doesn’t mention a plot. “They’re everything, they’re nothing, they’re everywhere, they’re nowhere.” I mean, it’s the worst pitch you’ve ever read — pretentious and horrifying — but I remember writing it, sitting on the floor listening to Tegan and Sara in my underwear, being like, “I’m a genius.”
