Fifth Harmony, or should I say Fourth Harmony, became a trending topic last night on Twitter when the female group, most noted for their hit song “Work From Home,” revealed on the social media website that Camila Cabello would be leaving the group to pursue a solo career full-time.
The statement from the group via social media read, “After 4 and a half years of being together, we have been informed via her representatives that Camila has decided to leave Fifth Harmony. We wish her well.” [READ FULL BELOW]
The statement continued to thank the fans for their support and assured them that new music would continue from the group. However, according a statement late released by Camila the situation didn’t quite go as how the group’s statement read. Cabello wrote, “I was shocked to read the statement the fifth harmony account posted without my knowing. the girls were aware of my feelings through the long, much needed conversations about the future that we had during tour. Saying that they were just informed through my representatives that i was “leaving the group” is simply not true.”
Camila continued to talk about plans for the future and hoping her fans will ride along with the singer on her journey. This year Camila already had a taste of the solo life having released a track, “Power in Me,” produced by Benny Blanco, and being featured on Machine Gun Kelly’s “Bad Things.” Maybe it’s on and upward for her, but what about the rest of the group?
Are you shocked to hear that the girls have split up? Could Fifth Harmony really continue as a foursome? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
