Magic and Technology Collides In NBC’s ‘Emerald City’ [Trailer]

Get ready to experience “The Wizard of Oz” like you never have before in NBC’s fantasy drama Emerald City. 

Adria Arjona stars as Dorothy Gale in the reimagining of the classic story putting a modern-day twist on the events that lead up to “The Wizard of Oz.” I’m thinking this is a Once Upon A Time type show bringing in new and old characters from the “Oz” universe.

In the trailer for the show, premiering in the new year, we see Dorothy getting swept up in a tornado with a police dog and ending up in Oz. And this Oz is not the techno color world we’re use to seeing. It’s dark, cold, and busted filled with magical creatures and technology that’s putting fear in people of the city. This show may get a one episode try since all my main ones will still be on winter hiatus.

Vincent D’Onofrio, Joely Richardson, Florence Kasumba, Ana Ularu, Isabel Lucas, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, and more star in the Tarsem Singh directed series.
