J2 Revamps “The Boy Is Mine” For ‘When The Bough Breaks” Latest Teaser

Have you seen the latest trailer for the upcoming thriller “When The Bough Breaks” starring Morris Chestnut, Regina Hall, and Jaz Sinclair? While watching, have you noticed the revamped version of Brandy and Monica’s 1998 hit “The Boy Is Mine,” well you should have and you should know the man behind it.

Award-winning producer and composer J2 , real name Jay Singh, is the genius that brought the popular single back to a new generation to be featured in the feature film trailer “When The Bough Breaks.”

StarGzrLily & Anjolee The Free lend haunting vocals on the sexy and eerie produced track giving a new feel to what Brandy and Monica brought to women who had beef over sharing a man.

In a statement from Mayhem Entertainment PR, J2’s rep said, “This re-imagination is not just a cover song but a completely new work; even the vocals are different.  What the cover does for the audience when they first watch the movie trailer is, it gives them that familiar ground; something they can hold on too, especially within the first few seconds, they know they have heard the song before. It also gives them a new spin on their favorite songs. In this re-imagination, it is a slowed down sexy version of “The Boy Is Mine” which makes it truly exciting and gets the audience even more enticed into the trailer itself.”
