On Sunday, August 28, 2016, the MTV Video Music Awards returned to New York City for its annual award show live from Madison Square Garden.
The night was filled with “epic” performances from Rihanna, who was this year’s Michael Jackson Video Vanguard recipient, the return of Britney Spears, Ariana Grande featuring Nicki Minaj, Nick Jonas, Future, and Beyoncé, who took home the most Moonmen.
Fifth Harmony also won big during the night taking home two awards, DNCE took home the coveted ‘Best New Artist’ award, and many more trophies were given before and during the ceremony.
