Cristina Lizzul is an Italian-American actress/singer who has made her mark overseas having spent the majority of her life growing up in Naples, Italy and building a fan base there. She’s more than ready to take her talents to the U.S. and is embarking on the transition.
While on vacation in Italy, Cristina took the time to speak with Glambergirlblog.com. She’s there until mid-September enjoying some down time with family and friends, but she’s also doing a show in Rome and promoting the EP The Percipience overseas. During our chat via Skype, Lizzul opened up about her music, what she learned in her career so far, and being an artist.
“It’s about being an artist. Creating,” Lizzul said. As a young girl Cristina knew she wanted to entertain. She started with song writing then went into doing some acting. “Turning things into art” is something that always caught her attention. After moving to LA about a year and a half ago, Cristina is loving the “LA vibe” and finding inspiration in everything around her. “I start by finding a beat,” she revealed about writing songs with music muses like: SZA, Jhene Aiko, Drake, and PARTYNEXTDOOR helping her channel her creativity.
“Throughout my artistry I want to really promote a good, positive image on life through art,” the 21-year-old said about her “MEDEA” track, a song touching on revenge. “I feel like as artists we’re able to sound off and solve some issues that we have in society today, so instead of getting revenge on somebody that hurt me, I’ll just write a song and the whole world will know and I’m done,” she ended jokingly.
Outside of a blossoming music career, Lizzul appeared in such foreign films like “Subject 0: Shattered Memories” and “Righteousness,” American films like: “Lemonheads” and “Acacia Avenue,” and as a member of the Underground Theatre in Hollywood acted in several plays.
Along Cristina’s journey wisdom has been the biggest lesson she learned. Often reading Greek Mythology and Roman Latin Mythology, a key thing she learned from those stories and in her career so far is that wisdom gets you through pain and widens your perspective.
So what’s coming up for Cristina? She’s in the works of starting a fashion/art blog because they go hand in hand to her. Definitely an album, possibly a visual album because she got extremely inspired by Beyoncé’s “Lemonade.” “I want to do a mix of art. I want to create a platform of film making, singing, song writing and acting and put it all in one body of work.”
