Fight Ghosts And Experience The Paranormal At Madame Tussauds’s ‘Ghostbusters Experience’

Who should you call? All your good friends who are “Ghostbusters” fans to catch ghosts, challenge the paranormal, and partake in the “Ghostbusters Experience” along with the first ever hyper-reality experience, “Ghostbusters: Dimension,” at Madame Tussauds New York.

I had the opportunity to experience the exhibit, new to Madame Tussauds NY, first hand a few weeks after the launch. Outside of the norm of taking selfies with famous wax figures, the “Ghostbusters Experience” takes guests directly into the 2016 reboot of the beloved film starring Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones.

Once you enter the exhibit through the NYC subway, you go through three more rooms: the infamous Aldridge Mansion, a Chinese restaurant – the new Ghostbusters headquarters, and a unique hyper reality virtual experience that puts you in the Ghostbusters uniform to fight and capture ghosts.

Throughout the exhibit you run into wax figures of the stars in costume, a self playing piano with the theme song, ghosts at every corner, moving paintings, and much more! The best part of the exhibit hands down is the “Ghostbusters: Dimension” hyper-reality virtual experience.

After you sign a waiver and a short wait, a team of four goes into the exhibit strapped in Ghostbusters gear consisting of: a back pack, a gun to defeat ghosts, and head-gear to see the ghost and to transfer you into the “Ghostbusters” world. The hyper-reality exhibit lasts less than ten minutes and you travel to three different rooms to defeat ghost in each one. It’s a highly sensitive experience where you feel shakes and the wind that hits you as you move throughout. Why just go see the movie when you can actually be a real Ghostbusters, even if for a little bit.
