FX and the Ryan Murphy team have been pretty mums about the upcoming, sixth season of American Horror Story, but it seems they are finally ready to let us in a little bit with what they have planned for the next season.
On Monday, the artwork on the official AHS Twitter page changed to a black background with a red 6. The 6 incorporates a question mark with has fans of the anthology series wondering if that has anything to do with the theme of season 6 or simply a question about what it will be.
While the plot is still under wraps, FX president John Landgraf teased in January that season 6 will be “set in the present” with “echoes of the past.” During PaleyFest, Murphy said there will be more tie-ins aka links to previous seasons. In an interview last year, Ryan Murphy said all the seasons are related in some way, so it’ll be interesting to see what they do this year and who will return.
Speaking of returning, so far three returning cast members have been announced. Cheyenne Jackson, Angela Bassett, and Lady Gaga will all be back. Bassett joined the series in 2013 for AHS: Coven where she played Marie Laveau. She continued her stint in the next two seasons as Desiree Dupree in Freak Show and Ramona Royale in Hotel. Both Gaga and Jackson joined the AHS family this past season where they played The Countess and Will Drake, respectively, in AHS: Hotel.
