Batter’s up, or pitcher, in FOX’s upcoming Fall series Pitch starring Tut actress Kylie Bunbury as the first female to play in Major League baseball.

Bunbury plays Ginny Baker, the young, beautiful, and talented athlete who gets asked to join the San Diego Padres to make her debut into the Major Leagues, but joining the male dominated industry is not a walk in the ballpark.

In the first trailer for Pitch, Ginny is seen joining the San Diego Padres and having to prove herself to her team along with the millions of eyes watching her make history. There’s also flashbacks to Ginny’s childhood revealing the dynamic relationship the athlete has with her demanding father Bill (Michael Beach), who molded her talents and secret pitching style that has gained her major recognition.

The pressures of fame gets to Ginny as she starts to question her very existence in the industry and to make things more difficult there’s an interesting love twist for the player. Insert San Diego Padres star catcher Mike Lawson (Mark-Paul Gosselaar), team leader who has a soft spot and instant chemistry with Ginny. Ali Larter also stars in the series as Ginny’s trusted agent and Ryan Dorsey as Ginny’s biggest rival on the team.

[UPDATE] Pitch premieres on FOX this fall on Thursdays at 9/8c.
