Michael Strahan will officially be joining the Good Morning America team as a full time anchor, meaning he’ll have to kiss his co-hosting duties on Live With Kelly and Michael goodbye.

ABC News president James Goldston shared the news in house with that statement that read, “Michael has been a stellar addition to the broadcast. Over the past two years on ‘GMA,’ he’s proven to be a tireless and versatile broadcaster with an incredible ability to connect with people, from veterans to American pop culture icons and newsmakers.”

The statement added, “I’m delighted to welcome Michael to ‘GMA’ each and every morning. I can’t wait to see what this incredibly talented team will bring our viewers next.” Strahan joined Live in 2012 after Regis Philbin left the show.

To be honest, I think the show should just be Live With Kelly and the new format would be Kelly and a different co-host. It could be a weekly co-host or a daily co-host and the people who come in could have a project to promote or whatever; and it’s something that isn’t on TV today. It keeps things fresh and interesting and have the audience excited about who’s going to be the next co-host. ABC you can take my idea and I won’t even charge you for it.
