‘The Day Beyoncé Turned Black’ Means The End Of The World For Some In Hilarious SNL Clip

When Beyoncé dropped her now controversial track “Formation”off her upcoming album the black community felt a sense of pride in their culture and in themselves in a society where the culture is often imitated and ridiculed. It was a song directly for black people with lyrics like: “I like my baby hair, with baby hair and afros. I like my negro nose with Jackson Five nostrils” and “I got a hot sauce in my bag, swag.”

It was a day white people didn’t understand and a clip from this weekend’s Saturday Night Live depicted it perfectly with humor of course. In “The Day Beyoncé Turned Black” white people freak out when they “discover” Bey is actually black after releasing a record to pay homage to her black heritage. The white people even question if Kerry Washington is black after the news that Beyoncé is. It’s really quite funny because I’m sure some people think like this.
