Grease is the word, have you heard? It’s got groove, it’s got meaning!

As if I wasn’t already excited for Grease:Live!now my level of excitement has surpassed a normal level after watching Jessie J and the Grease:Live! cast rendition of the 1978 classic “Grease” by Frankie Valli, which plays during the opening credits of the film by the same name.

In the clip, Jessie J and the cast are seen in the studio recording the track along with behind the scenes looks at the cast in action briefly showing off sets and dance performances.

If you don’t know, Aaron Tveit and Julianne Hough will play the beloved high school lovers Danny Zuko and Sandy, with Vanessa Hudgens as Rizzo, Keke Palmer as Marty Maraschino, Carlos PenaVega as Kenickie, and Carly Rae Jepsen as Frenchy. And if you really don’t know, the film “Grease,” based off the Broadway musical, is a story set back in 1959 where Danny and Sandy meet over the summer, have a fling, and are thrown together in a world Sandy isn’t use to. The live television adaptation takes a slight spin in that Sandy actually joins the Pink Ladies early on and is in a relationship with Danny while the two try to remain true to themselves and remain a couple.

Watch Jessie J and the Grease: Live! sing “Grease” from the Grease: Live! soundtrack below and share your thoughts in the comments. Grease: Live! airs Sunday, January 31 on FOX.
