Zac Efron, Seth Rogen, and Rose Byrne are back for more of the college life in the follow-up to the 2014 comedy “Neighbors,” in the Nicholas Stoller directed “Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising” with some new female additions putting Rogen and Byrne’s characters up against a new threat: sorority girls.
In “Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising,” Mac (Rogen) and Kelly Radner (Byrne) have settled down from the battle they were in with Teddy (Efron) and his fraternity brothers in the first film. The couple is expecting another baby and are set to more to the suburbs, but there’s a problem, a sorority house has taken the place of Teddy’s frat house and they are way more out of control than the boys.
Enter Chloë Grace Moretz character Shelby, who along with her sorority sisters Beth (Kiersey Clemons) and Nora (Beanie Feldstein) grow restless of the “school’s sexist, restrictive system” and decide to get a house that will allow their sorority Kappa Nu, and whoever else wants to join, to get as wild and crazy as they want to. Only problem is the Radners want no parts of this and team up with their best friends Jimmy (Ike Barinholtz) and Paula (Carla Gallo), with the help of Teddy to bring the house down.
The first trailer features Selena Gomez as Madison, the leader of the sophisticated sorority and the moment Moretz’s character plans to change things. We see Efron’s abs, always a plus, but we lack my boy Dave Franco, who played Pete in the first film. He’s slated to appear, so maybe he just missed the first trailer cut. There’s wild partying, a swim suit hose scene, and more.
It’s parenthood versus sisterhood in “Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising,” in theaters May 20, 2016. Watch the first trailer for the film below and share your thoughts in the comments.
