‘Harry Potter’ Actor Alan Rickman Has Died At Age 69

It’s a sad day for “Harry Potter” fans and film fans alike. Famed actor Alan Rickman, notably known to the younger generations for playing Professor Severus Snape in JK Rowling’s books turned films – the “Harry Potter” series, has succumb to his fight with cancer and died at the age of 69.

On Thursday, January 14, it was announced that the British actor was battling cancer unbeknownst to the public and died from the disease. A brief statement released read, “The actor and director Alan Rickman has died from cancer at the age of 69. He was surrounded by family and friends.”

Outside of “Harry Potter,” Rickman acted in films like “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street” and “Die Hard” along with directing two films, “The Little Chaos” and “The Winter Guest.”

Many celebs and fans shared their condolences and meaningful thoughts about Rickman including his “Harry Potter” family like JK Rowling, Emma Watson, and Daniel Radcliffe. Rickman leaves behind his wife Rima Horton, whom he’s been dating since he was a teenager.
