This has been a very eventful year for Miley Cyrus in the hosting department. Back in August she hosted the MTV Video Music Awards for the first time and over the weekend she returned to the Saturday Night Live stage for the third time to host the season premiere and serve as the musical guest.

During the SNL opening monologue Cyrus took the opportunity to bid adieu to the summer of 2015 and to “all those people who made this summer what it was.” As the 22-year-old Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz artist belted a sweet take on Frank Sinatra’s “My Way,” famous pop culture figure heads were displayed around her.

Rachel Dolezal, The Dentist who killed Cecil the Lion, Kim Davis, Pope Francis, the “Entourage” movie, Ariana Grande‘s licked donut, the Meek Mill/Drake feud, and more were all featured in the hilarious montage.

See who Miley Cyrus said goodbye to from summer 2015 in the season premiere Saturday Night Live opening monologue below and share your thoughts in the comments.
