The Nicki Minaj story is coming to a television screen near you.
Deadline announced that the “Trini Dem Girls” rapper will executive produce and appear in a scripted ABC Family comedy series about the her life growing up in Queens, New York. In a statement ABC Family’s EVP Programming and Development Karey Burke said, “Nicki Minaj is a force to be reckoned with at everything she touches. Nicki is an international superstar, yet not everyone knows how inspiring and hilarious her true story is, and we can’t wait to share it with the world.”
Minaj also chimed in on her new show saying, “This is one of the more unique adventures I’ve ever embarked on. I couldn’t be more proud and excited to team up with an amazing group of people to give the world something really special.”
On Instagram, Minaj shared the news with her Barbz posting a screen grab of the Deadline article with the caption, “I’m so excited to share this news with you guys. I will no. I am now launching a nation wide search to find #YoungNicki ????????????”
