Ariana Grande stopped by Good Morning America on Tuesday and talked about that infamous donut licking incident for the first time publicly.

“First of all, my behavior was very offensive and I apologized. There’s no excuse, or there’s nothing to justify it. But I think as human beings, we all say and do things that we don’t mean at all sometimes,” Grande said about the incident where she was caught licking a donut in a California sweet shop and exclaiming that she hates America.

She went on to say, “We have to learn for it. That’s part of our process. We have to learn from our mistakes. That’s how we grow.” When asked about she learned from that experience the “Break Free” pop star said she learned “what it feels like to disappoint so many people who love and believe in you, and that’s an excruciating feeling.”

Adding, “You have to remember your words, your actions have ramifications, and you have to really think about what you’re about to say and do, because it’s important. It’s important to so many people.”

But that’s not all Grande was on the show for. The 22-year-old was there to promote her first fragrance Ari by Ariana Grande which she describes as sweet-smelling with hints of marshmallow. The fragrance is currently in select stores.
