The 2015 Made in American music festival curated by Jay Z was a big hit on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia over the Labor Day Weekend from Saturday, September 5 through Sunday, September 6. Big acts like Beyoncé, Meek Mill, Nick Jonas, De La Soul, and more rocked the many stages that were placed sporadically throughout the mile-long strip for the sold out festival.

Day 1 of the music festival brought out special guest Nicki Minaj when she came on stage for her boyfriend’s, Meek Mill, set on the main stage. The two performed the Philly native’s song “All Eyes On You,” which features Minaj and Chris Brown, off his Dreams Worth More Than Money album.

Nick Jonas had a big turn out for his set on the Liberty Stage as he performed many of his hits like “Levels,” “Chains,” and “Jealous.” He even did a cover of “Roses” by Outkast that showed off his live singing range.

The big performance of the night came from Queen Bey herself and naturally the Beyhive wasn’t playing no games as they flooded the Parkway, 70, 000 to be exact. Beyoncé, who just celebrated her 34th birthday the day prior, promptly began her set that was filled with mash-ups of today’s hottest hip hop hits like Future’s “F*ck Up Some Commas” and Lil Ronny’s “Circle,” along with many of her hits like: “7/11,” “Diva,” “Crazy in Love,” “Flawless,” “Drunk in Love,” and more! With eight costume changes total, Made in America festival goers definitely got more than their buck in this set.

Not only did Bey rock the house for her fans, but she did for her hubby Jay Z who sung along to “1+1” in the crowd alongside Nick Jonas. Mrs. Carter’s former Destiny’s Child group member Kelly Rowland was also in the audience with Bey’s mom Tina Knowles Lawson.

Day 1 – a success! Stay tuned for Day 2 recap
