Liz Gillies Talks SDRR, Her Boyfriend Meeting Her Family and More on JKL

Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll actress Liz Gillies stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live for her first late night television show appearance to discuss starring in her hit FX show alongside Denis Leary, her boyfriend, who she moved in with two weeks after dating him, meeting her family for the first time, and her first job ever playing an American Girl doll.

“My first ever job, I was actually, do you know the American Girl dolls,” she started explaining to the audience it was a big deal when she was a kid. “They use to have a show, they don’t have it anymore, where we use to play the dolls and act out their background and I played the British doll. But whoever played the British doll also had to play the Native American doll cause look at me, cause that makes sense.” It was a live show, so Gillies proceeded to sing one of the songs she had to perform live as a kid.

The conversation continued with the 22-year-old and the late night talk show host talking about her audition process for SDRR. “I did audition for the show. It was weird actually because they were casting in New York, but I live in LA so, I had to do an audition tape. I didn’t hear anything for a while and then they called me when my family was in town visiting my boyfriend for the first time.” She went on to say she got a call that resulted in her flying to New York that night to test with Denis Leary. As we know everything worked on because she’s on the show and it rocks.
