Nicki Minaj Calls Out Miley Cyrus At VMAS, Then Cyrus Throws Subtle Shade Back

Just when Nicki Minaj squashes her mini beef with Taylor Swift by performing with her during her opening on the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards, she goes and starts another beef with VMA host Miley Cyrus and this one is juicy.

Let’s back track a bit. When the VMA nominations were announced Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj had a few choice words about the nominations when Minaj voiced her opinion on Twitter about not being nominated for ‘Video of the Year.’ Swift misunderstood her views on the subject, apologized and offered to share a stage with her any time. Nicki accepted that offer but it was her stage since she opened the show.

Now in a New York Times article Cyrus was asked about the incident and basically was saying Nicki was acting like a brat and was angry about not getting the nom saying “You made it about you. Not to sound like a bitch, but that’s like, ‘Eh, I didn’t get my VMA.'” Nicki never said anything about that article once it hit the press, but she did on Sunday.

As Nicki Minaj accepted the VMA for ‘Best Hip Hop Video’ for “Anaconda” she aired Cyrus out saying “Back to this bitch, that had a lot to say about me the other day in the press. Miley what’s good?” Pearls were clasped and jaws were dropped as everyone wondered if this was serious or not because then in true Nicki manner she cracked a smile, but then returned to her chilling New York stare.

So what did Miley do? She gave some professional shade. First she said, “Hey, we’re all in this industry, we all do interview and we all know how they manipulate shit. Nicki, congratulations.” Nicki wasn’t buying it, but then it got better. The shade came on a scorching day. Cyrus continued, “Just because the VMAs have already started doesn’t mean the voting is done. You can still vote at home for who you think is the future of music. It’s the Artist to Watch Award.”

“The past winners of this award have gone onto incredible success. And the past losers of the award have still gone on to make their mark on the VMA stage,” wait for it…. “Me. I lost this award back in 2008 and I was fine with it. Whatever. Because it’s no big deal, it’s just an AWARD and I PERSEVERED so here are the nominees still vying for your vote.” If these Petty Betty’s don’t knock it off.
