Justin Bieber performed on Sunday night’s VMAS for the first time in years and also performed his first solo single in years, “What Do You Mean,” for the first time live on stage.
The monumental moment proved to be so emotional for the 21-year-old that he shed some tears following the conclusion of his performance of the single, which received a music video debut following the VMAs. What is said to be JB’s “comeback,” he had a thought-provoking monologue during the transition of “Where Are Ü Now” and “What Do You Mean” where he talked about his growth as a person.
Maybe that’s what made him cry, but come on Justin. We’ve already seen the “put my heart into this performance and now I’m going to cry after” thing with Chris Brown at the 2010 BET Awards. And that was because he got blackballed in Hollywood and finally accepted back in. You’ve been busy getting roasted on Comedy Central and showing up on tour with Ariana Grande when you should have been in the studio, so don’t cry now. Sorry, rant complete. The VMAs is bringing out the sassy side of me.
