Over the past few months Spike’s Lip Sync Battle has brought countless celebrities into our homes every Thursday night as they pretended to sing some our favorite tunes for our amusement.
Famous faces like: Common, John Legend, Anna Kendrick, Emily Blunt, Justin Bieber, Victoria Justice, Queen Latifah, and many more all participated in the battles, but the biggest yet came on this Thursday’s two-part season finale with Empire stars Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard.
In the first round of the season one finale of LSB, Henson was up first singing “Just Fine” by Mary J. Blige and later having the singer herself join the performance on stage. Next up, Howard performed an emotional rendition of “I’ll Make Love to You” by Boyz II Men.
For the first time ever LSB competitors sung a duet, but this one was extra special. Howard and Henson sung “Hard Out Here for a Pimp” by Three 6 Mafia, which was featured in the 2005 film “Hustle & Flow” they co-starred in.
The final round brought full on set changes as Terrence Howard channeled Rick James and performed “Brick House” by The Commodores. Lastly, Taraji P. Henson closed out the show with a Marilyn Monroe inspired performance of “Material Girl” by Madonna. So won this battle of the Lyons?
